In January 2023, our Animal Rescue Team responded to an alleged cruelty and neglect case in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, where more than 170 cats were trapped in horrific conditions, with overflowing litter boxes and dirty cages stacked on top of one another. These cats showed signs of extreme neglect, and several were in dire need of medical attention. Many cats had no apparent access to clean water.

Feb. 8: The cats are receiving much-needed veterinary attention and TLC at our temporary shelter. We are starting to transfer those who are ready to shelter and rescue partners for adoption into loving homes!

Jan. 31: Our Animal Rescue Team is on the ground in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, where more than 170 cats are suffering from what is alleged to be appalling neglect. Many cats were trapped in filthy conditions without apparent access to food and water. Right now, the cats are at a safe, undisclosed location where they are receiving much-needed veterinary care while we work with our shelter and rescue partners to place cats into their adoption programs. Several of the cats have already been placed—please contact the individual organizations below for more information on fostering or adopting.
